Why?
![]() 09/03/2016 at 20:03 |

Did you have any sales experience before getting this job?

How rad was that 3uz.

How wrong is everyone?

I worked retail for a summer and have been an admin manager before hand

Not rad

A woman came to buy it and it was located at our second location. I had to go get it

What was so bad about it?

I really want to sell Volvos.
But being 18, no college, with only serving and cashier (at a dealer but) experience. It’s hard to get taken seriously. Even when you have a serious passion

Steering was numb, it felt like i was 60 years old and retired, there’s no steering connection, the throttle response was “meh”. The only plus side was that it wqs comfy

I decided to not want to work in a high pressure dealership, it doesn’t suit me and I felt like I would have no chance.
I work in a smaller place that works as a team and while I do have a quota, it’s not some insane number. Plus i dont have to wear a suit

I think it’s rad.

When I see the words “worst car ever,” I expect to see something like a Dodge Caliber, Nissan Versa, or Dacia Duster. that may be one of the most uninspiring cars ever, but it’s hardly a piece of junk.

I feel such a visceral hatred for the rear of those cars.

Didn’t Top Gear name that their “worst car in the world”? The lines are just weird with that hard top down...

But Regina George drives one!

I would have said the Chevette or Vega were the worst car ever. You learn something new everyday.

Great point there
Honestly why I’d love to sell Volvos (other than the fact that I love their products)
I could never work as sales for Chevy because there’s like 20 salespeople and they all seem like sharks. At least Volvo seems a lot less pushy and a lot of the clients are repeat purchasers or already know what they want.
Glad you are enjoying your new job though!

Thanks! I’d totally recommend a smaller dealership honestly if you want to get your foot in the door.
The sales team is literally 5 people + the sales manager. There is a system for phone calls and walk in’s so we all get a fair share. I’ve been here since Monday and already have 3 cars out the door. My first month’s goal is 12, the total goal for us all is 80. Inventory is at 161 as of tonight. It’s been a great decision so far.

Ex Lexus Master tech here (specialist in charge of suspension and steering just like at Lotus, Volvo, Aston, and Mercedes):
SC430
I felt the steering well on those always.
Old people hardly ever owned these.
Good throttle response. That V8 is understressed and legendary.
Had a pretty harsh rebound. Comfy is not a word i’d ever use to describe the ride.
So basically the opposite of what you said. Why is that?

I’m very picky

Did you drive it in and out of town for a while?
![]() 09/03/2016 at 20:56 |

I was behind the wheel for a solid 10 minutes moving it around the warehouse then to the dealership

Toyota engines are always understressed. The 2UZ could easily squeeze 500 HP with a good tune.

Clearly you haven't driven an Aveo. Or enough shitty cars.

I've actually always loved these. Even after driving a few.

Nothing compares to how bad the 97x is.

Was it as bad as a Civic from the era?
I have to wonder how bad a V8 luxury convertible could be in the grand scheme. No matter what the TG-Trio say
